THE AEC-200 LONG REACH  SPOOL GUN

One of the most useful items in your shop is the "mig spool gun".  It's main drawback is that because of its "bulk" and short neck it can be very difficult to reach into tight spaces. the AEC-200 "Long Reach" Gun has a flexible neck with an 11" (28 cm) reach.

AEC Long Reach Spool Gun

This is a mig wire feeder and mig gun in your hand! With this gun you can easily weld, aluminum, stainless steel, carbon steel, aluminum bronze, silicone bronze, or any filler metal on a 4" spool. If you have a special application you can always spool a small amount of wire for a special job.

Why you should consider the AEC-200

1. The AEC-200 spool may look familiar to you. the beginnings of this spool gun go back to World War 2, yes we were welding aluminum (in the spray mode with constant current power supplies)-in World War 2! The original patents were on the motor in the handle and using the power supplies DC welding voltage to power the DC drive motor. These guns were originally manufactured by Airco, it was referred to as the "20-E" gun. If you found a Blue version-it was a Miller, a Black version was a Glenn, a yellow version was a Chemtron, if the back half was black and the front clear, it was a Lincoln! All the same gun, there are thousands out there and we have repair parts for them! This spool gun has SUSTAINABLE TECHNOLOGY, this is term that will become of more and more important in the years to come!

2. The AEC-200 spool gun uses a solid state DC motor control.. The advantage of the electronic control is simple; at the slowest speed (1RPM) you have full motor torque. The control assures that you have consistent wire feed speed at any speed setting with all sizes of wire.
